Here it is guys…the setup was done by teal_terrorgt out in jersey under a tree  . A lot of his hard work went into it and I’d like to thank him for it all. It was a kit ordered from ebay, was supposed to be costumed for the mr2 5s. I was a lil discouraged at first after asking around on 6gc.net and being told the kit wouldn’t fit, and I would have a lot of problems. But terror made it happen. I don’t really know too much about the setup because I am still learning, but the turbo itself is a t3\t4 holset, and I do know it’s running an external waste gate. I am also running a grip force stage 3 clutch and a fedenza light weight flywheel.

Here are some pics

Here is a video...Youtube wasn't working so i had to stick it up on myspace...let me know if anyone is having issues viewing i will try to get it up on youtube again.

I still have a lot of work to do though. This Saturday I am going to open the rest of my piping under the car from stock to 3 inches all the way back…I will also have to buy a new pipe…so I’ll see what I like out there. Next are some bigger injectors, im going 460cc. Then my fuel pump will be replaced by the 255 walboro. These three should be done within the next week or so. Im also looking for a metal head gasket so I can turn up my boost a bit….right now its running at 5psi. I must also change the waste gate spring to a 10psi. im also going to replace the air\fuel meter with a wideband so I can finally hook up and toy with my safcII.

As to how it feels??? Aaaawe man this thing feels great. My 4th gear on the highway feels like my 2nd gear…especially with the light weight flywheel. Terror sold his 5th gen 5sfte running a ct26 to a friend of mine. And I can say that the holset turbo really make my car a different animal. It really spools in hard around 35-4000….i’ll try to get some videos of that soon.

So tell me….what do you guys think?

When you get your exhaust done, got a cold air intake made, to place an RSAkimoto (or similar) paper filter under your battery tray behind the fog light opening in the bumper.

this will give you colder air = slighlty more power compared to sucking in radiator air
these mushroom style foam filters fall apart sometimes and if that happens you'll find all that foam in your turbo and will need a new one.

wastegate spring,,, if you have a 5psi spring you will get 5psi of boost. But with a boost controller you can raise it to anything above 5psi (but you can never go lower than 5)

if you put a 10psi spring, it will always boost to 10psi with no controller. With a controller you can raise it higher than 10 but it will never go lower.

Swapping to a different wastegate spring is a good clean way of having your turbo always set at a specific psi without the hassle of a boost controller... or the possibility of it failing ...etc ... but you need to know that once you do that you are locked into 10+psi land...

I personally am a fan of locking yourself into a specific psi figure, and getting tuned for that psi ...and then not messing around with changing boosts ...etc so it's a good idea ...

You don't really need hte metal head gasket at 10psi with a good sized turbo, a front mount intercooler and a good tune... so i wouldn't tear apart your motor just yet...

all good points nuclear...i think i will take your advice and tune for 5psi....then get a boost controller and move from there.

about the head gasket....my engine has around 80,000 miles on it....what do you say? can i turn it up to 7 or 8 psi and be safe?

well the decision has been made and I am building another celica, I am looking for a clean 5Gen gts or GT or a 6 Gen GT preferrably a virgin car with no mods that some old gizzard had and never been tinkered with. Wife give me the ok since she made me sell my pride and joy when I was moving to FL. without boost I am feening like a crack head and my tools are catching rust. I miss boost.

dont mean to sound like a poon but ditch the XS wastgate

TRUST ME IT WILL FAIL

and when it does u will be buyign a new engine.

also loks like the DP and manifold are xs crap. ditch the manifold as well or have it checked. brace the DP and you should be good
