Wikipedia has a ton of info too.

Looks like the SR20DET is the way to go with those. I owned a pulsar in 1993-1994. It was peppy and fun to drive. The t-tops were a blast too.

Are you talking the USDM Pulsar, or the Aussie Pulsar, or the European one? They're all different.

The U.S. got the Pulsar NX (1600(XE?) or 2000(SE)). There was the ultra-boxy one, then the more refined one. And then it became the NX1600 and NX2000 I believe. The NX was fugly as hell, but still fun to drive, and they made one with a dohc that was very peppy.:)

The Aussies have the best versions. The current ones are really nice looking IMO, and they came equipped with the DET engine option IIRC.

I would definitely do one as a DD.:D

I reckon the most recent Pulsars we've had have all been 1.8VVT jobbies. None of the SR20DE bizzo. That was last seen in the 2000 SSS models. The GTIR (AWD and Turbo) is a JDM model that is frequently imported here. I'm not sure when the production dates of those go til though.

The 1.8 motor of today isn't too impressive putting out about 90kw and 163Nm of torque at the crank. It's the economny that's impressive, 7.4L/100km in town 5.2 on the highway.

Wouldnt this count as genral disscussion? Neh, anyhow that 1st pic Play put up makes me wish that car was never made. And was the 2nd picture imported to the US?

The second picture was a USDM picture. :) You probably don't remember it though since you were barely born.:hehe:
