View Full Version : 88-92 corolla and celica st compatibility?

Will a clutch and flywheel from a corolla fit in a 90 celica st, I think they have the same 1.6 litre engine. Also what is the transmission name on the 90-93 st, I think my clutch is going. In reverse the car like bogs and hops, and when im driving the car's rpm's will raise but it like lose's power then regains it. Also when i let off the car it like bogs and hops untill i et back on it.

Well you clutch going won't cause the engine to bog, other than at idle, at that would only be if it was stuck in gear.

If it's slipping however I would replace it.
I don't know the trans info for the Corolla, but clutches SHOULD be the same.
No gaurantee though. The input shafts could be different, ect.
Also, at least some of those Corollas had the 4AF [read no E, so no EFI, carbureted].
I don't know how similar they are.

sweet thanks i guess i have to look into this more because i want a flywheel to and ive only found light weight for a 4af corrolla

exact same motor cept exaust manifold is differnt

my 2nd engine that broke under warrenty was rolla 4afe

cool thnaks i guess ill call the company and get the lightweight fly wheel an d clutch
