Reading the title some of you are probably thinking or great some ricer racing an Intrepid is his Celica. Well that's not quite the story here. Monday November 27th I fell asleep at the wheel on my way home from work and ran head on into an Intrepid. I credit my Celica with saving my life without a doubt had I been in a Civic or another small car built around the same time as the Celica I would be dead. First of all I am banged up and have broken leg, nose, an a slight fracture in my skull. My face is all stiched up now and I'm starting to heal quite well for anything. I was in the hospital from Monday night till Friday morning. The lady driving the Intrepid was treated for a broken leg and released that night.
Now here at the cars

As you can see I'm pretty lucky :wiggle:

EDIT since I'm not that bright pics are down the page

wow. thats very good to hear that you are okay. i have had to drive when exhausted before, and it can be pretty terrifying. theres some proof that you should tried tiredness just as seriously as drinking (and can be ticketed too for it).

also, if you have firefox you can download an extension that allows you to resize pictures in the browser to zoom out, or zoom fit to the screen. Works quite well.

Wow Thank god your alright, looks like it could have been alot worse! Around how fast were you going to do that much damage?

If two cars are doing a seemingly low 25mph when they meet head on it's like hitting a wall at 50. Nobody has to be going that fast in a head-on to do that kind of damage. That thing did save your ass man. Glad everyone is ok though.

Rough estimate of my speed is somewhere around 80km/h - 100km/h. She saw it coming so she was going slower but I have no idea by how much, I would say she was doing max of 60km/h.
Sorry I'm not to quick with the km/h mph conversion tonight

Wow you came out pretty good for a car with no airbag.

I noticed you're from N.S. I'm in P.E.I. so if you need any parts I might have some stuff for you.
Air bags would have saved me some but I think my face would have gotten almost as messed up.

Holy crap man that was in PEI? I happen to need some front end parts but I don't think you have any of those in good condition :) Mine has airbags but I don't even know if they work. I rear ended someone and they didn't go off but it was only a light hit. They were broke on my Rav4 for almost a year because I accidentally pulled the ribbon cable out of it's connector in the steering column, just got it fixed last week. Stuff like this makes feel stupid for waiting a year to fix it with all the long hours I spend on the highway with that thing.

Hehe yeah not much left to that front end, but depending on what parts you were looking for I have a parts car also but I'm not saying there is a lot left to it.
But surely when you have airbags it's a good thing to have them working, but I do agree they're pretty particular about when they want to go off and I know I'm scared to work on vehicles with them.
