So over my winter break, I was going to continue on my rattle elimination quest. To do this, I was going to drop the headliner to fix a wire I didnt secure when I was replacing the sunroof. I have a page bookmarked:

http://celica.faccaonline.com/tutorial/index.php

That was the tutorial I used to guide me along with replacing the sunroof. Unfortunately, it appears the site no longer exists. If anybody has a copy of the site saved, I would really appreciate it if they could share.

So no answer in those for the slight pop up that you can manually do by pressing from the inside when in a closed position.

Disappointing.

I may be willing to tackle this sometime soon with the weather improving, if there is some sort of bushing kit available. If so, I'll provide pics.

What ever happened with this?Erm, with my request? I'm still waiting, PM's unread- having said that, I've been hunting around and found a few diagrams of sunroofs and how tos re: repairing it. Heaps on this site by the way- really looking forward to using this site and interacting much more within it. :)

If I can get a copy of the tutorial with pics, that would be great though :D

Ya, I meant the actual tutorial that was emailed over to Luni.

I have my sunroof apart right now, so I'm reverse learning it as I'm going. There isn't much detail around, just a few people talking.

Hey man, I dunno it will help any, but I have links for a few different forum threads about removing/ repairing/ replacing the sunroof, as well as exploded diagrams and part numbers. pm me your e-mail address and I'll see what I can put together ASAP. Bear in mind I've a wedding to plan, it won't happen overnight!

The facca tutorial seems to be the one cited the most in terms of being useful- as I said, I have it but without the pictures, as the wayback machine doesn't keep images (that is, when it works). So if I can find it, that would be good. (hint hint someone... anyone? :D )

I'm planning on sorting mine out in May, when I get back from my honeymoon- we've only got the one car at the mo, so I can't go taking it apart until then! lol Mine slides when it's meant to tilt, and does nothing when I press slide... can't put it back either, so I'm assuming that the cables are misaligned, and the grinding of gears indicates I've stripped the plastic gear wheel in the motor. I can't help but find it ironic that Toyota designed it to have a part fail as a safety precaution, only to have to replace the entire bloody thing anyway (can't replace just the gear...)!

Anyhow, get back to me if you want the sources I've found so far- I imagine you have them, but you never know ;)
