i managed to jump on a great deal for HIDs from from someone on 6gcT. they look awesome. a lot brighter then stock, but not too bright so that they would blind other drivers or anything. 8000k bulbs.

I hate HIDs...if they're too bright. Usually it's only a problem on trucks...they might as well use their high beam all the time, they don't blind as bad. I suppose it's not as bad in the city, your eyes are adjusted for some ambient light, but in the country your eyes get used to the dark, then an HID equipped truck pops over the hill with it's fog lamps on and you can't see shit for five minutes.

Anyhow, hope you like them.

Any shots of the beam pattern? Or a shot of them aimed at a wall that's further away?

Semi-OT, has anyone else thought the celica is at the perfect height that the other cars lights are perfectly in your rear-view?

True story.

The solution is to get some obnoxious yellow lights for all yoru headlights and fogs, and blind all of them back. Solid wall of light coming from the front of a 5th gen? AWESOME!!

Reminds me... i need to take new pics of the GT, for that reason. :P

I was thinking of getting some rally style foglamps, so I can aim them up, just to blind back truck drivers who drive with their fogs on for no reason.

a spotlight hung out the driver window works good too.

But it's kinda obvious you're trying to blind them, then. The idea isn't retribution (mostly), it's showing them that fogs can blind in the hope that maybe .01% of them will think to turn theirs off.

HIDs are fine if theyre aimed properly. Due to the LONG beam spread you can aim them lower and still have good beam coverage.

yep, thats pretty much how mine are. ive yet to have anyone flash me for blinding them or anything like that. they basically just point right at the ground like they should.

Not bad.

I've had a couple people flash me because my silverstars are aimed kinda high, but they've been really low to the ground sports cars.
