I have always carried a fire extinguisher in my Celica for the last four years.

I had recently tested mine and it was no good.. I have been putting it off to get another since I have not been regularly driving my car but have decided I need to stop putting it off! A car can be lost on the road from a fire which could have been contained with a simple extinguisher!

My suggestion is to just get a straight regular B & C class (B = fuels, C = electrical) extinguisher from Home Depot or something. The standard red bottled fire extinguisher is all you need! Not some 300 dollar hyped up GReddy or name brand ricer crap.

You can get as small as a 2lb bottle which will last around 8 seconds of straight spray (obviously.. if you have ever used an extinguisher you can just pulse it making it more effective instead of draining it all in a straight 8 second shot). I personally have a 2.75lb bottle which is good for around 12 seconds of straight spray.

This extinguisher was around 25.00 shipped to my door.. the best question is, what else could you ever buy for so cheap that would possibly save your car?

Buy one, keep it available for quick access, its worth doing!

Here is the link from All Hands Fire (http://www.allhandsfire.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?store_code=AHF&screen=PROD&product_code=LS-440161K) website to buy this particular 2.75lb extinguisher.

I don't blame you for wanting to spread the idea of having an extinguisher.

YYARRRSS!!! Thats nasty... but exactly the reason why. I started carrying an extinguisher in my car nearly 5 years ago. It became VERY important once I had heard about Mike's (Qatar) 6th gen 3S-GTE swap burning to the ground on the side of the highway!

Anywho.. this is a perfect example!

Also a good idea to have a pair of those inexpensive split-leather work gloves so you can pop up the hood on your flaming hot engine bay to use your extinguisher.
