I'm not really into performance mods, so I'm looking at some other stuff for the Celi. I wanna lower it, maybe around 2 inches or so. I also wanna put some sorta custom exhaust, to give it a bit of sound (ATM, it makes no sound at all, makes me sad :(). Finally, I wouldn't mind one of those GT4/ALLTrac hoods, just for looks really (I have nothing under there :D). How much do you reckon these items would set me back? Or, should I just keep the Celi stock for a few years, sell it, then look for something with all the goods attached? Thoughts? Thanx...

I know nothing about the pricing of these things...

Give us some time....:)

All-Trac hood is around 3-400 bucks

Custom exhaust without the payment of the muffler is around 2-300 dollars in USDM.

I don't know about suspension though....Good Luck

If you do the suspension right, replacing all the wear parts, it'll probably be around $800-$1000.

Cav is pretty much on for the exhaust, depending on where you go, and what you're asking for.

The AllTrac hood, i'm not personally sure about, but i'll have one to sell in a month or two.

remember, hes in australia. Shipping a hood from Greenwood to AUS would cost an Arm and a leg.

Yeah, I suppose the lowering could wait. It's probably last on my priority list. I'd really like it to sound something like this, or thereabouts...

As one of my civic buddies said "i think my noise to acceleration ratio is off"

get the pacesetter exhaust, ive heard it, and i think it sounds good. i dont have a video clip though.

FYI, lowering a 5th gen much more than an 1"-1.5" messes with the suspention geometry too, so i wouldn't lower it more than that.

Hey thanks mate, that seems like an awesome price. How do you think it sounds in relation to the vid I posted? Louder? Quieter? Same?

Cheers...

OK, this is a Q for the Aussies on the board. Where the fuck would you find a 5th gen GT4 hood? I can't think of a place that would sell them (Not online), I would even know where to start...? *confused*

You're probably going to have to resort to what everybody else does. Troll forums until someone in aussie land has one for sale. Either that or call up every junkyard around and see if you can find a GT4 that has been rear ended.

I don't know if toyota would still be selling them, but I'm sure they'd cost a pretty penny if they were.

you could use a pacesetter piping and put a magnaflow muffler on the end of it... I don't really like the muffler on the pacesetters. never was a fan of dual tips.

Are people really reffering him to Paceshitter? I have honeslty never heard anything good about them....oh except they last for a year or so. :p

They're great systems for the money. Sound good, improvement in flow over stock, decent mandrel bends, and not to mention maybe 20% of the price of a Toyota replacement.

Not a system i would recommend to someone living in an area with high salt on the roads during winter, mainly because the muffler section is a little prone to rust, but the rest of it holds up pretty well.

So if you just get an exhuast shop to weld on a muffler for you, you're usually set to go.

But... you can also get a full custom for the price that it would cost to get the Pacesetter setup, and another muffler, and the weld job for that.

It's all about how involved you want the process to be. :)

Yeah thanx, I'm looking around now. I'm willing to spend a bit, but I don't want the car to sound extremely loud (You know, the ones that are too loud..). As for the GT4 Hood, looks like I may have to search the junkyards. Not too many people here would be selling their GT4 hood, I highly doubt it...

oh man you live in australia. You are very fortunate. Im pretty sure you can prolly find a st185/gt4 hood and cs bumper at a junkyard somewhere. Im almost pausitive they made alot of gt4's in your country.

How much do gt4's in decent condition go for where you live in Us currency?

Can't you guys get the Aussie exhaust over there? I've heard that's a really good setup, and i know of someone around here that went to great lengths to get it. Haven't heard it personally, but he wasn't a ricer, so i'm sure it sounded good. :)

<EDIT>
Disregard this post... i'm an idiot and thought you had an ST185.

NP

I don't think there's a shortage of GT4's, I could buy one easily if I wanted...Pretty decently priced as well (I think)..

GTR Rallye (http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.private_vehicle?total_rec=20&search_distance=500&vehicle_id=3391254&keyword=GT4&state_id=-1&current_rec=5&model_id=31&used_rec=2&make_id=8)

GT4 (http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.private_vehicle?total_rec=20&search_distance=500&vehicle_id=3368726&keyword=GT4&state_id=-1&current_rec=7&model_id=31&used_rec=2&make_id=8)

They all sit between the 7-10000 USD mark..

I now have my dad, who's saying to just save up for a GT4 (And not worry about doing anything to my SX). Decisions, decisions...

should have saved up for a cs instead

As for pacesetter exhaust, i have had that exhaust on the car for a couple years now..i recommend respraying the whole exhaust w/ a high temp ceramic paint as the factor paint will burn off eventually and rust will occur.....I've done it and so far no rust on the exhuast... its not a loud exhaust system when idling but it gives it a nice tone....and for the price..its quite cheap...

Well my exhaust seems to be like this pacesetter one (by using your description). It's a single, not a double, and is nice and quiet when idling. When I push it, it sounds really sweet.

I've got a Borla CatBack on my car. It doesn't have that huge fugly can on the end, but it's still a good diameter pipe and makes one hell of a sound. I've gotten compliments from a few auto mechanics for making a 4 cylinder sound good. If I can get an extra tape for my camera I could record it maybe...
It's a little pricey though, but comes with a lifetime warranty.

Wow, that looks really clean.

what did you end up buying? is it a custom kit or a brand?

we picked up an ST165 front cut at a wrecker in perth for $1k, and there was one complete with GT4 bonnet at another, ST185, they wanted just under $3k for the whole cut im not sure if theyd flog the bonnet on its own tho.

the buildup of crud in the head looked like crap and and the oil was black, so even tho it was a later motor, we went for the 165, which was clean and bewdifuls
