Anyone know what it would take to convert from 4 lugs to 5 lugs? New wheel hubs? (then rotors... wheels etc). What a bitch but I'd like to have all-round GT disc brakes on my ST. Coupes rock:) (am i crazy?)

Yeah, you need the hubs, rotors, and wheels. I believe the brake hardware will bolt right up to the 5 lug setup.

For the back, you will need all the brake parts as well to convert from drum to disc. There is a writeup on that at toyotacelicaonline.com under the modifications part.

why not just get a gt coupe :) it'll make it easier for 3s swap, and you can have your disc brakes (as a factory option!)

Even better write-up, albeit on Camrys, is at:
www.geocities.com/kocho_chestimenski/camry.html

Maybe different cars, but the Celicas and Camrys shared a lot of similar designs, and more than a few parts (e.g. brakes, engines, etc).

This guy not only includes a long, clear description, but provides the most detailed diagrams I've ever seen.

One problem -- limited data transfer  . I'd suggest downloading the PDF rather than reading it off the site.

If you're going to do a four-wheel conversion, try to get the front disc setup off a 92 or 93, since they got 277mm vented rotors instead of 255mm. The rears were 269mm solids and didn't change to any signifiant degree (0.2mm variation in overall height).
