i have 250 - 300 to spend on my 5th gen gt 2.2 5sfe now what should i buy, i would like performance

assuming that you already have had a good tune up....i would say e-manage or apexi safc. you can can a good used one off ebay for $150-$200. then spend the rest on a cold air intake.

The ECU dumps a specific amount of fuel when you floor it, but it's not optimal for the 5sfe so you can gain some power by tuning how much fuel the car gets with SAFC. You would need to dyno your car to find out which RPMs it needs adjustment in. Typically 5sfe tend to run pretty rich at higher RPMs, so you would tune it so it gets a little less fuel at the higher RPMs.

You'd probably gain around 9hp peak and a few hp across the entire powerband if tuned properly.
