I have been looking into buying a welder for the past couple of weeks, Mostly to do custom exhausts with. I have been told a MIG welder is the best to use, but I have done some looking up of MIG welders and it seems that Flux welders are similar .....
Can anyone give me a decent welder to purchase, or tell me the different between a MIG and FLUX ? Also , will a flux do the same job as a mig welder ?

Flux core is the type of wire used not they welder its self. Flux core is self shielding where as regular MIG wire needs Argon gas to do the shielding. 99% of welders can use both, I have a Lincoln sp135 that will do just about any thing you want it to.

So, is it fair to say that flux core is more convenient and easier to weld for a noob?

Upto opinion. Mig with argon is verry user friendly compared to other types of welding. Flux core wires tend to make a messyer weld, so youll have to wire brush and clean up the areas when your done if there for asthetics,
