Good... because i'm test driving it in 20 minutes, and i think i can get a hell of a deal on it.

Asking price was $1500, i got him down to $1200 just over the phone, and i'm sure i can nitpick to an even $1000.

Has a year old paint job, LSD from a later model, and it's pretty much mint. DORIFTU?!?!?

318i, manual.

I don't think i'm going to do it, now that i drove it. It's a nice car and all, but it's just so damn slloooooowwwwww....

You know it's bad when you step out of a Celica, and the next car you drive feels slower than molasses.

Handled great though, had no power steering, the LSD does work, i verified that. Blows cold AC and such.

But i'm going to save for another month and try to get one from this list:

1987-1991 325i
1987-1991 325is
1991 318is

I'd be having to beat the crap out of this car every day on the way to work, getting on and off the highways. Although, i'm told.... the compression is REALLY low on these things, and they LOVE obscene amounts of boost.

But, i can't boost my daily. :(

the 323i and 325i are mad little cars. I had a friend with one when I was working at a grain silo about 100km out of town. It used to sit on 160km/hr doing under 3000rpm in 5th. So comfortable. It's only a little inline6 but it makes plenty of power, I think the gearing is just crap for doriftu etc. They have LSD cos there's ice back in the Fatherland :D

You don't want to know... you'll probably shoot me.

Ok... well... anyways....

Seller flaked out on me. Wanted the full amount this week, after we had already written up a contract that i would pay it by the end of September. So, i bailed.

The celica was getting built anyways. I'll buy another Z at a later date, maybe this coming summer.

Anyways... the Celica is getting to the point where to even make it into a good daily driver, it would need a good chunk of money sunk into it anyways. Suspension is pretty much shot, needs an exhaust system, and i need some rust taken care of, and i'm not sure how much longer i'm going to trust this engine. Runs fine now, but needs a lot of scheduled maintenence coming up soon.

It's a perfect time for a swap.

gotta work out if it's what you want to sink your cash into. all told, those upgrades will put you somewhere round the $5000 mark, even doing your own labour. If you're after a rwd fang-beast (as evidenced by the 323/Z32 talk) then I'd avoid spending too much cash on a thrashed out car unless you seriously want a rebuilt celica.

Yeah, understood. I want a rebuilt celica, though. This car is still really solid, so it's a good candidate, and i'm too emotionally attached to it to just sell it.

The rwd car will come next summer. Well... i'll probably have one of the Bimmers on my list by winter.

Oh, and i'm going to be sinking closer to $8-9k into the celica. (Actually already started.) :P I wasn't kidding when i told Ricky i was gunning for him.... i'm going to blow that bodykit into the weeds. >:3

Just kidding Ricksta, we <3 you.
