I totaled the 92 Celica. Drivers side windows and rear window are all smashed. The drivers side door was crushed in about 7" I spun the car in I think 180* but the police said i did more than a 360*. I was trying to avoid a mini van crossing a 4 lane HWY (2 w and 2 east) I only sustained a broken nose a gash on my forehead and several small lacerations on the left side of my body. ER's dont live up to their name. But the ambulance ride was nice. Time to get some money! So shead a tear for Toya my celica. bought it for only $500 drove it for 5 years and put over 80,000 miles on her. She did a great job on keeping me safe.

Do me a favor and watch out for stupid drivers they be everywhere.

I just found out one of my wife's ex-managers is selling her 6g vert!!!! She'll sell it to me for 1k! It's a 96 vert, can't recall model, but belive GT? (maybe ST though, I don't think the 6g vert came in GT).

She bought it new in 95, and only owner! No accidents, theft, damage, etc. 100% MINT 6g vert with 45k. Really tempted to get it...but Mary still wants the CX7.

Um. Just because it's a 6th gen doesn't mean it's automatically a pos like yours. Further, just because it's a 5th gen doesn't mean it's teh roxxors either. So instead of telling him that he'd be happier if he got a 5th gen because it's a 5th gen and not a 6th gen, try saying something a little more productive, like "really take a close look at what you're thinking about buying. Here are some of the things I missed that you should watch out for..." Same can be said for any car really. Trust me, I've seen some pretty shabby 5th gens out there that I wouldn't drive if my life depended on it.

I'm just glad you're ok. Many drivers in big cars drive like they're the only ones on the road. RIP 92 Celica.

monday i get to stop by and take a look at it; admire the blood and broken glass, then clean it up and pay the $125 it cost to get the damn thing towed 10 miles. several things to do tomorrow.

-clean out car
-talk to insurance compamy
-call a doctor for my nose
-talk to my aunt about a possible lawyer
-get the accident report from MI police
-get home by 3:30 to go to work.

Accident happened in MI is a no fault state. I was 1/2 mile from IN (I'm from IN, fault state) where the accident happened. The person i avoided was from IL. This could get fun. I also start school on the 21st.

Yeah, no kidding. My 5th gen would have saved my life if I was actually in her when she got totalled, and I'm confident that my 6g would do the same.

Man, yeah you're going to have fun with a tri-jurisdiction case. hoho wow. I wish you the best of luck with that. :ugh:

Glad your ok. I've walked away from two crashes in my two different 5th gens. Nearly in an accident this weekend but I'll post that later. I don't know if I would feel safer in any other vehicle.

^Nah, cause I'd take a turn like I was in a celica, flip it, and die.

jesus christ.. theyre both awesome cars and they both have a lot of similarities. just get another celica period.. dont matter what gen. sorry to hear by the way...

Awesome? Yes. Similarities? Yes. Bulletproof, either of them? No. Both gens are succeptable to neglect just like any other car, but at the same time if they were well taken care of they would both be, IMO far superior to many other cars. Thats the only point I was trying to drive home, not necessarily at the topic starter. I would buy another 5th gen if I weren't in debt already, but I would buy another 6th gen too, even a 7th, or 4th or 3rd or any gen.

Sorry, we went slightly OT there for a bit. Thanks for the update. Glad everything is going...well, decently well. How bad is the nose busted up? Can we get a pic of that too?
