Hi!

Yes, people have. Not as common as on the newer Celicas, but it still can be done.

You can use a 3SGTE manifold no problem.

That depends on what year 3SGE you already have, considering that you said you have a ST162, you would probably be best served getting a head off a 2nd gen 3sgte and using that plus the gen 2 manifolds.

Yep, just make sure not to get the gen 3 manifold - it definitely wont fit. :)

Thank u for the info but i am a little lost my 3sge i believe is the 1st gen so maybe the st165 3sgte manifold will be without problem?
The reason i want to put the turbo on it without swap engine is because i already spend alot of maney and time on it.
Rebuilt, hi cam, computer and all the other engine are new, so rother buy other enigine i just want to see how much different can it be to put the turbo on it.
For the manifold i already ask so many people and shop no one can give me a answer. Most of them don't know for sure, so i hope can get some info from u guys.
Thanks

Well I suggested the gen 2 head because parts are more readily available for it, but since you've already built yours, by all means, stick with it.

I still recommend using the gen 2 manifolds and turbo however, because it uses a split pulse design so the threshold and lag times are a little less then the gen 1. Either one will bolt right up to the 1st gen head, you will just have one extra stud hole on the gen 2 manifold as the 1st gen doesn't have the extra center stud. It's also far easier to find a replacement CT26 from a gen 2 because that is the design all MR2s use, as well as finding a good downpipe, many options available for the gen 2 turbo, only one that I know of for the gen 1.

Thank u very much now i will keep on going to find the parts.
Thanks for the info.

By the way my 3sge manifold has only 6 bolt, so how many on a 3sgte manifold?
the reason i am asking is because i have to make sure everything or other wise i will just west the money.
thank u very much

6 on gen 1, 7 on gen 2 (that extra center stud i mentioned). A gen 2 will fit just fine on a gen 1 head.
