Since when do you live in Calgary! Shit I'd love to meet up with all the Alberta Celica owners..espically you and your BEAMS :)

08-01-2006, 05:06 AM

08-03-2006, 03:23 PM
haha - i could probably be there :)

08-04-2006, 07:28 PM

Chris, is that Greg beside you?

08-05-2006, 05:17 PM
Nope...thats one of the other albertacelicas guys...I forget his name now though! :)

08-05-2006, 06:56 PM
I am thinking that we might as well get any celicas out, since the number of 6th gens just isn't in Calgary to make for a good meet!

Wouldn't mind getting to meet some of the local Celica people!

08-09-2006, 09:53 AM
That's good to hear that there are actually people in Calgary that have decent celica's. my 1990 GT-Four is on a boat, and i haven't seen many good ones around.

i want to race something other than my friends new 1991 Supra at race city.

08-09-2006, 08:50 PM
If that meet happens, could someone up in Calgary grab a part from teamfaint for me and later on drop it off in the NW or NE? (:

08-11-2006, 02:45 PM
A meet would be nice, i would definatly be interested. If someone says its a go I will book off work.

Well it would definately be nice. I don't think it is going to turn into much of a meet at the rate its going. I think for now there is only Outsider and myself.

08-11-2006, 04:07 PM
I could be there. I know 2 other gt4 guys that would come out too probably.

Well that sounds great. Might as well get some other people out. I wouldn't mind meeting some of the local celica enthusiasts!

Any ideas of where a good place would be to meet? Anywhere that we might get some good pictures?

How about the overflow parking lot at SAIT. Right next to the edge of the hill. Makes for good pics with downtown in the background.

08-13-2006, 03:18 PM
Yeah we've had good meets there before:

08-13-2006, 06:44 PM
Ya that definately makes for a nice backdrop. Where exactly is that, do you know the address? or brief directions of what road it is off?

Hopefully we have some nice weather. So we should meet there on Sunday, August 20th at say 1pm? Or is there a better time? Should we also post this meet on the Alberta Celica Website?

08-13-2006, 08:15 PM
Sait is on 16th ave NW between 14th street and 10th street. Access from 14th street by SEARS or 10th street half way up the hill (by the LRT bridge over 10th street).

I found a map of SAIT (http://www.sait.ab.ca/pages/about/campuses/pdf/printmap.pdf) is the overflow parking lot the one labeled P1?

08-19-2006, 01:17 AM
Yes, P1 is the overflow.

So how did it go?

08-24-2006, 07:57 PM
So how did it go?

Well we had our big turn out with 3 people, all 6th gens, but it was still a meet!
From left to right, Outsider, WALKER, 6gsillyca.
The meet didn't last too long, we just looked at a few things on each others cars mostly looking at Outsider's BEAMS engine. What a nice looking engine that sounds even better! It was a good meet since we got to meet some of the local 6GC enthusiasts.
6gsillyca had to go to work so Outsider and I went on a little road trip to the mountains in search of some fun winding roads and a possible photo op.
The drive was very relaxing with gorgeous scenery on a nice hot sunny day!
It involved us going across some bridges...
...but it allowed for some rather nice pictures.

08-25-2006, 08:04 AM
Hmm where is that place with the bridge?

08-25-2006, 03:02 PM
Hmm where is that place with the bridge?

I can't think of the specific name, perhaps Ross can help?

It is a dam just east of Exshaw right by the intersection of highways 1X and 1A.

08-29-2006, 04:05 AM
It's at See-bee(spelling?) dam just east of Exshaw. Highway 1A and highway 1 are joined by a link that goes to the dam. The two highways directly join at Canmore.

Wow. I can't believe I missed this...

I am moving to Calgary from Medicine Hat, and I should be fully moved on the 1st... anyone want to setup another little meet & greet? Hahah... lmk.

09-11-2006, 09:13 PM
Sorry that I missed it too. My rusty old MR2 probably would have felt a little out of place and my Celica is still waiting for me to finish the bodywork. It's taking a lot longer than I expected.

09-12-2006, 06:13 AM

10-23-2006, 01:12 AM
