Alright guys, I remember someone had gotten turbo back exhaust piping for their 3sgte swap and can't remember who it was. I was wondering if there is anyone else who is running turbo back exhaust piping. Or if anyone has turbo back straight piping for their exhaust. I want to know if they have a resonator or cat on their piping. I'm debating what size piping i should also get for a 5sfte set up running at 7-8psi. I was thinking maybe 2.75" - 3" mandrel bent piping.

Input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

the size i would probably go with 2.75"....the resonator and all depends on what type of muffler u get. if u get a muffler that has resonator in it then don't worry about it. but either way i would try to quite the exhaust as much as possible. no need to atract attention to urself while speeding.

get 2.5-2.75 piping with a magnaflow muffer and no resonators or cats. youll love it.

I have a magnaflow exhaust right now with a 2.25" inlet. Is there anyway I can make the inlet bigger? I'd like to make it larger so I wouldn't have to take this one off and have it sit in the garage waiting to be sold.

I have a custom exhaust from the downpipe back on my GT-4.

3" mandrel bent tubing.

1 resonator.

1 straight-through muffler.

Cat still in the downpipe for now, till I can get round to affording a new downpipe too, which will have no cat, and be 3" to match the rest of the system.

for a 3sgte, i would go 3", no doubt.
for your average 5sfte setup i think 2.5" piping would be more than adequate, and if i had to do it again, would prolly be what i would have went with.

I have 2.25" piping for my 5sfe right now. Would 2.25" piping for a 5sfte set up be ok? I would like to reuse my muffler but get straight through piping (not follow the stock piping path but more of a straight back path). Would this exhaust set up be sufficient for a 5sfte set up?

Depends how high you intend to spin the motor and how much boost you're going to run. As long as you stay under 10psi 2.25" will be sufficient.

Planning on running around at 8psi. No higher than that. Thanks for the input guys.

Lagos - Have you backfired yet?

Did most of you guys follow the stock exhaust piping path or just go for a more straight back approach?
