Mines not as bad now, tanabe springs and bilsteins helped even that out a bit.

His suspension isn't stock either. I think he said something about one of his front swaybar mounts breaking off, so his front bar isn't doing much good. Other than that mod, it's all stock.

Nice shot :bigthumbu

Yeah some of that JDM rust took care of the front swaybar. Get a nice clunk on every bump.

Bonus shot to show how bad it is :hehe:

By the way, Slider, I didn't add your pictures yet because they're already sized. I like working with raw images and touching them up then. I should be at the autox this Sunday so if you show up maybe you can just drop them off on a CD. If not, I'll find a way for you to upload the full size images.

I'll send them over yousendit.com to you. Don't know if I'll make it to the sunday one, the schedule for my job isn't up yet for next week.

http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/7665/strutbar1cv.jpg That's where it broke off.

When rotating my tires I found out that my passenger side inner CV boot is torn. The same one, I paid my mechanic to replace less than a month ago. It looks like he hasn't touched it at all :thumbsdow

I don't think the 17's helped either with the body roll. I think if you had some stock gts the car would handle better for autox. Nice shot btw, you must have a fast camera to get that kind of shot.

They probably don't help with the acceleration but I doubt they have much to do with the body roll.

It depends, if it makes the car taller than stock, yeah it'll create additional body roll due to higher center of gravity.

Yeah what he said. I do notice your car sits up higher then stock. Thats why I'm thinking of finding some 16's and running those instead of 17's

Uh.. if the total diameter of wheel and tire is the same, the center of that diameter isn't going to be higher or lower either way. It would only change if the total diameter were larger, the size of the wheel alone isn't going to do that. Besides, TYPICALLY the shorter sidewall is going to flex less, so I really doubt his wheels were detrimental for that vs. stock unless his tires aren't low profile enough to keep his total diameter the same. It's true if the tires let the car slide more less of that force transfers to body roll, but eh, really arguing semantics with something that insignificant ;)

The overall diameter is basically the same give or take a percentage. It handles a heap better than with the stock 14s, but those had all season tires and they were 185 in width.

Slider so are you on stock spring/strut setup? I'm thinking Of getting a set of 215/50/16 which makes me think its a smaller diameter then what I'm running now 215/45/17

Yup all stock, 215/40/17 is the tire size I run.

Check this calculator, easy way to match the stock diameter when you're upsizing or downsizing the wheels http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

All stock here, one of my mounts on the front sway bar is broken so that may definitely contribute to the rear lifting off.
