well as is sir what are you meaning?? what motor cuz in the U.S. there wasnt any real sir's just si's in the year 2000 which came with a b16

Thats all it is in pgh Mostly Honda imports. I have been meeting a ton of mr2 guys as of lately.

Are you talking about the vtech B series 2 door hondas? The usual purple ones?

dunno how an auto fairs, but if i ever get a chance to hit the track i'll let you know. I dunno what the 5th gen gt's do in the 1/4 but with a horrible r/t i ended about 5 cars ahead of my buddy with intake and exhaust.

For 4cly rwd the KA motor in the 240 doesnt run bad times........ I meen thats decent a 15 sec pass. yahhh Stock celicas arent really the best thing to bring to the track. Like usual the only way to really make it fast is forced induction.


I road in a customers hatch they other day. B18 vtech with bolt ons header intake exhaust.... and I want to say it had cams.. Suspension was all done up and all. He was always telling me vtech, vtech throughs you back in the seat blah blah blah. Just wasnt impressed with it. Thing wasnt fast and sounded like a lawnmower. Made alot of noise and reved really high but didnt really go anywhere.

Ka exhaust < Sr20 exhaust. That motor with a catlees exhaust lets say 3" Doesnt sound like its a 4cyl it sounds so mean.

Mid 16s, so yah, sounds about right. I'm pretty sure with fresh tires and a prepped track, i could get right on the border of 16/15s, but last time i ran i got a 16.6.

my current mods are simple, megan header, gutted cat from previous owner to 5zigen fireball catback. I have an injen intake also, then I have megan springs on tokico 16way adj. I have my custom modded amber corners bsa 7 spoke black rims with chrome lip. I also have powertrix toe arms and rear upper camber arms to be put on along with soem 4runner foglights.

as soon as I pick up a job, I'd give it 3 months, its either the sr20 or a full rebuild and turbo of the KA, I know your not a fan of the ka-t, but we shall see. I get a 2100 check for housing every 3 months and I'm only using 1200 of it so I pocket the rest which equals mod money

^^ Not a fan of the KA turbo. theres so much potential with an sr20. About as much or a little more with the 3sgte engine. Ive seen so many things done to a ka to make it quick its unreal. KA turbo is a cheep alternative. Makes the car faster and a fun car to drive but nothing like the sr20.

That'll depend.... I drove a 1995 Neon ACR this past friday, with headers, intake, exhuast, and a mild cam to 14.45 @ 94. Also had some weight stripped out of it, probably closer to 2200lbs. Anyways... i think it'll be close.

I'd be a little worried if that motor was thrown in a CRX hf or something light (EF of some type). I've personally driven a bone stock B18C swap in a 89 CRX HF 13.3 on drag radials with a crappy launch.

The sr20 turbo is so much more expensive. For the amount of money you spend to swap in a stock sr20, you could have a 250 whp KA.

thats crazy.. How much does a crx weigh ?

The HF was the economy light model... i believe it was in the area of 1900lbs.
