So how does one do that anyway? Air tool with an appropraite attachment? A razor blade and lots of patience?

Specifically the goop on the oil pan, or the area around the water pump, etc... OR should i just go get everything dipped?

I use a putty knife to get most of it, then a razor, but it does take a while.

Moving to general. ;)

you can take the super easy way out, and use a wire wheel.

i'm sure that someone here on the board will say 'its oh so bad...' for whatever reasons. and, i've no doubt that some reasons will be sound, logical, and reasonable. :)

i used the wirewheel cuz it was handy, easy, super fast, and got it cleaner than a razor could.
