i went to autozone today to get my free pads and for a lil less than 10 dollars more i upgraded from albany to duralst gold (the high end duralast pads) has anyone used these before and if so how well are they or does anyone know how well they are, i plan to use these till they wear past 50% and ill get some more or after 50% ill get some ebc pads. oh and the pads are still lifetime warrenty.

from what I know, lots of those pad get their "lifetime" use from the super hard matrials they are made from.

Watch carefully for wear on your rotors as you drive with these brakes. Don't be suprised if you need to get them resurfaced or replaced next time you need pads.

Yyyyup...they are "lifetime" because they are made from really hard materials that have low coefficients of friction so they don't grip well or wear fast. It's too bad that also means you can't stop well.

I'm sure you don't want to hear it, but in my opinion, brakes are NOT an area on a vehicle that you can skimp on. Being cheap now just causes more expenses later.

If you want EBC pads cheaper than anywhere else, have a look here:

i have the duralast gold pads with brembo rotors all the way around, and it stops like a mofo. it's the best stock-sized setup i've used so far. either way, i never have a problem with braking performance whether the pads are hot or cold.
