This should probably go in the show and shine forum but the folks in here are the only ones I ever converse with so I thought I would post up a decent picture of my GT28RS 3sgte powered 6gc. Enjoy. Mods, if you want to move this thread - at least leave it here a couple days please :D

jay ... great car, but all the pics you post are a cock tease. i want to see about 10 pics of the outside of the car, along with 10 more of the engine bay ! not just one pic! you put a lot of time and money into your car, but you almost never show it off.

How do you like the gt28rs? Do you have any dynos? This is the turbo I decided most closely meets my needs. I would like to hear your thoughts. Most of my info comes from the MR2 guys. Thanks.

Show and Shine must be 6gc terminology, because we have a Multimedia formum for showing off, but we don't care much. If you are a reg in this forum, then so be it.:D

Ass! It's been close to 40 degrees celcius (around 110 F) for the past 2 weeks where I live. Dont forget you Americans own Alaska.

Back on topic: Looks like a wicked convertable conversion, but need pics of under the hood! :)

Guys, I have already posted the engine pics but I will again since you are so demanding...

By the way, the GT28RS is GREAT! I love it. More power would be pointless in a FWD vehicle. I can spin the wheels at any RPM in first or second gear just by pushing the accelerator down.

Anyway, on to the pics:

This is a picture of the kit going in - the stock heat shield is retained due to the offset manifold adapter. Notice the silver sodered hard water lines.

do you have to take off your IC piping when changing the oil filter?

you should paint your heat shield, it will give the whole engine bay a much cleaner look.

No problem with access to the oil filter.

heat shield will not be painted any time soon but I am thinking about wrapping my intercooler piping :bigthumbu

Against it? No. I just said it wouldn't do much. I have noticed this summer that my intercooler piping gets a little hotter than it first did (still just warm where it is cool at the point that it turns near the radiator) so I thought it couldn't hurt for $25.....we'll see if it does anything.

like i tried to tell you before. it will do a great job of keeping that pipe insulated from any extra engine bay heat. if i were you, i would wrap that whole section that goes to your throttle body, in this pic. that way, it wont get reheated by your exhaust manifold or valve cover heat.

Weird seeing the turbo clocked that way. Clean setup. How much boost are you running? Oh yeah and what kind of numbers are you putting down?

lates,

Full boost is attained in the low 3's depending on gear. The power band cannot be beat.

The turbo kit and exhaust were done by Carl Crawford at Speed-Source. (http://www.speed-source.net)

Thanks. I run anywhere from 11psi to 16psi. I haven't had it dynoed but I would guess about 260-270whp at 16psi.

Sweet. Carl is doing mine too. Where are you located? There is a meet and greet there on July 22. Are you coming? I think Steward is picking up his beast that day too, but I am not sure.

I am in Peoria. I will consider coming - sounds like fun. I would love a ride in that alltrac with the GT35R.

Yes, but you would need the hood too unless you planned some crazy custom work. The joint between the hood and the bumper on the GT4 is higher than the ST204 / AT200 parts so using just one doesn't work. Also, you need the GT4 latch or you need to modify the stock latch.
