OK, this saturday night i am driving down this road, it is a faster road where you can go 55 mph, and im driving down it and the new metrosexual 06' jetta(no offense to anyone who owns one :D) pulls up next to me at about 30mph. He goes by me slows down and lets me pass him, so i gun it in my little st and start to pick up speed. All of the sudden i hear a turbo spooling and thought "oh shit" and the jetta completey tore me apart! worst of all, my friend is in the passenger seat and the two guys in the jetta point and laugh at me. Damn! who would spend money to get new jetta, then turbo it? the fact that they put $$$ not only into a jetta but a VW? I don't know, i thought it was funny cause i was thinking there is no way this guy has anything under the hood lol i was wrong. :lolhittin :owned:

Heres a pic of what it looks like

Hey, I know a guy who owns a jetta, not an 06, but the previous generation. It's a nice car really, and he's done a few mods (mostly suspension) and he loves the car... he's also eaten a few BMW's for breakfast and can out handle 3/4 of the stuff on the road. it may look like a chick's car, but they can be nice.

Maybe he didn't...

Isn't there a version of the new Jetta that has that Audi 2.0T engine in it? If that's the case, that is NOT a slow car.

The other thing....

Check out them, if you haven't already... They'll swap an AWD VR6 TT drivetrain into just about anything.... Even been raped by a VW New Beetle?

The Jetta comes in a turbo version.

Volkswagen's have been getting modded from the begining. It is not a waste of money. Any car you can put minimum buck into and get maximum gain out of is a sure win. I have seen (and owned) air cooled Beetles that will walk just about anything in a given environment.

Remember, don't ever judge a car by it's exterior. That is what makes a sleeper a sleeper. And Sleepers are the best kind of car to have. :D

^^That, in my view, is one of the main distinctions between rice and nice. Dig the sig btw.

That's the old 1.8T, the new one is a 2.0L Direct Injection Turbo originally seen in the A3 and A4. Can't remember what it's rated for, but it's quite a motor.
