View Full Version : Replacing Misc. Parts

When I was at the junk yard getting parts for the Auto-Manual swap I picked up a few other parts...

My center console cover was a little rough. This is the before:

This is the new one (I cleaned it up a bit before installing):

The device that holds the door open was broken in my car so I took the one off the junk car. The ONLY way to replace this is to take off the door panel.
1- Remove screws from the bottom of the door panel
2- Remove the plastic pop rivets from the side of the door panel. (These WILL break and will need to be replaced. Napa always stocks hardware that will work but it will probably not look the same. Just make sure it has the same shaft diameter. The head will almost positively be bigger. They will look fine though.)
3- Remove screws from inside handles.
4- Pop off the triangular cover near the mirror.
5- Pull panel up and off.
6- Remove screws from speaker and take it out (you don't need to unplug it).
7- Unscrew the door-holding-device (whatever it's called) and pull it out THROUGH THE SPEAKER HOLE.

And reverse the process to install.

I actually don't know if I have it. I'll see if it's still in the car.
