i went to visit a toyota only junk yard to get some parts and took the camera with me. this place is awesome. they strip all the parts from the cars and then put them into the ware house where everything is cataloged and boxed. i didnt magange to get any pics of the warehouse but i got some of the yard. see if you can spot the mk2 mr2?

I swear i had a dream about a place like that a couple months ago

was a junk yard with all celicas. I found a red celica with a highly modded 3sgte just sittin on the grass with no tires.

Guy said he would give me the car for 500$ Most amazing dream. A lot more too it but jesus it looked just like that. Celicas everywhere.

most of the cars are already striped. every part is in a warehouse all lined up and they go find you what you need. its great.

http://www.woodwardtoyota.com/

thats their site, and they should be able to ship stuff out to you.

Holy Hell http://www.my4thgencelica.net/smilies/batman.gif. Where's the other half of the car? That looks like..

A) Someone smashed up the side pretty daymn good, and needed a whole new side (literally). I think that's the rements of a MR2 shell? (What other Yota had T-Tops besides MR2 and Supra? I see a front engine bay, but also a rear engine bay?)

B) They drove thru a laser beam.

C) They ran into Wolverine's middle finger when he was jumping over the car.

Philly, eh? Not too bad of a drive. Also, they're on the www.car-parts.com database.

But that's a little bit too clean to really be called a junkyard. Do they at least let you roam throughout the yard with a toolbox to collect what you can find or do they insist on getting the parts for you? I mean, obviously they let you go in to take pictures, but giving you free reign to the source is another question.

I'll have to check it out when my internet connection is acting more normal.

no, its not a "you pull it" type of place. they do all the striping of parts and send them to their warehouse thats is a few blocks away. i had to ask them if i could walk around the yard. there is pretty much nothing left on these cars.

once you go to the junk yard, they have trannys, motors, seats, body parts, etc... all lined up for every toyota you can think of. they even had a few scions there.

Yeah I gather they strip the cars of the most accesible and easy to sell items (engines, trannys bla bla bla). Stil they leave behind some more stuff that usually breaks for wear and tear and they are still attached to the car like rubber gromets, antennas, electrical plugs, I even saw a complete brake booster and master cilinder wich is a bitch to remove.

Still, its nice to have one of those near home :)

GOOD FREAKIN GOD!!!

That might be where I go when I die too. Excepet there will have to be a 1/4 track right beside it. With stripper poles.

That place looks amazing. i'd be scamming that Celica cloth top SOO fast!!

I've been to woodward a couple times.. They got a really nice warehouse.. and good prices.

Only thing I don't like is they won't sell me a 7th gen or 6th gen steering wheel with out all the other airbag shit.. so it comes out to a lot of $$ :(

It is indeed an SW20 MR2. Looks to me like my favorite color, 8J2 Light Blue Metallic, which also means the car is a 1993 model year (that color only came in '93). The front trunk, or "frunk" as well call it, is not an engine bay-- it holds the spare tire and battery. You can clearly see the multiple firewalls that an MR2 has, contributing to its heavy weight-- there is one between the rear trunk and engine bay, between the engine bay and cabin, between the front cabin and front trunk, and between the front trunk and front of car/radiator.

And Oh!!! What an amazing junkyard-- never seen cars so neatly parked in a row like that, esp. cars that are immobile... haha.
