View Full Version : Part number for MR2 LSD

I need the part number for the MR2 LSD that will work in the alltrac tranny... when I call the dealership up.. they find 2 different diffs for the MR2s.. depending on the year.. 90-95... Both of them are LSD..

So if someone could help me out with this I'd appreciate it as I don't know what I am doing at this point.

You do know the LSD is going to be like $1500, right?

Well that's the deal.. I don't know what I need.. I call up toyo dealerships and I ask for an MR2 Turbo LSD.. and they have 2 part numbers... one is only like 250 and the other is 500 something (this is from 1sttoyota)... so like.. yea I don't know.

I thought someone said that LSD were only in the 93+ MR2Ts? You said depending on the year, and only list one range of years. What is the other range?

41301-SW202 LSD '90+
41301-SW211 LSD '92+

These are part number I found.. I think they're japanese or something as they're not found in 1sttoyota. Plus they have the "SW" which I have never seen in a toyota part.

SW is simply part of the chassis code for an MR2.
The actual LSD is NOT $500. It's like $1500. Make COMPLETELY sure they know what they are looking at and what you are getting.

W is the code for a MR2.
S is the engine family in that chassis.
The numbers are simply the model.
AW111 is the code for a MI MR2.
A series [family] engine [4AGE], W for MR2, and 111 for that particular car.

Like a 5th gen Alltrac is ST185.
S is the engine family [3SGTE], T is a Celica, and 185 is the number Toyota wanted for that particular car.

I figured as much... but what does it translate in part number terms, as 1sttoyota doesn't have any part numbers that have "sw"

I'm honestly not sure on that.
One is probably the 3SGE powered MR2.

The 93 up w/LSD diff. PN is 41301-17040 and it runs $1633.80 after discount. The year ranges are production date ranges, not model year ranges. That's why there's a non LSD PN for the whole run 90-95, and LSD only for 01/92-06/95. The part numbers you got are probably for TRD japan LSD upgrades which, as far as I know, do not have gears or spider etc. just the large piece.

well, he's looking for just the lsd.. not the whole tranny. I think that's the whole tranny.

You might be better suited just to get an aftermarket one.

I've been saying this.
That is only the diff.....

TRANSAXLE, MR2, Turbo, w/Limited Slip 1995 $2,258.51 $1,626.13

That's through 1st toyota.. so wtf? The diff is more than the tranny with the diff? Doesn't make since to me.

Yeah, I noticed that when I looked it up before. The diff isn't more expensive, but it's not much less than the whole tranny. Welcome to the world of car parts.
