what are the possible symptoms my baby has that would cause the airbag light to be on? also, can I use a high flow cat with a 3" inlet and run 2.5" pipe for my exhaust?

Could be a short in the system, bad connection, sensor gone bad.
Your best bet is to either take it to a shop or find a 240 forum where they will know the trouble codes...
You could do the exhaust thing, but it's not the smartest idea..

Edit: Okay, so I didn't even bother checking what you drive. The info below is for 5th-gen Celicas with the funny little diagnostics thingy.

I triggered my airbag light somehow or another while working on the car, and I tried what this guy suggests. His description is terrible, but it worked for me and the light hasn't come back on.

Note that you don't turn the key on/off five times, you toggle between TC and AB five times. Leave the other end of your wire plugged into the diagnostic ground terminal as you do this.

to do it yourself, locate the diagnostic connector
under the hood, ID pins TC and AB, starting from TC ground them
alternatly, releasing one, then grounding the other at the same time,
holding it down for about 1.5 seconds, turn the key on, engine off on
this, do it 5 times, you'll end up on the TC terminal, timing is real
important, if you get it, the light will be out, otherwise, try again,
if it never goes out, you may have trouble and it keeps resetting the
