And the Rice wing actually works, for the amount of work that went into it they could have used a k series motor, or an h22. Total waist of time & money, really goes to show the love people have for the 3sgte though

K transmissions suck and the H22 hates boost, so I would say the 3SGTE was a good idea.

Good idea putting a stout powerful Toyota engine in a lightweight Honda chassis. Very cool. :D

I think it's nifty, course.. don't dig the wing, but the engine job is cool.

At a show in Nashville last year there was an early 90's RX7 with a 3s in it and another with a VTEC. Don't know why ppl are hating, its no different than the the ppl that 427s in the Vega in the 70/80s.

pretty cool. i love how he had the smarts to do such a swap, yet he didnt know any better and kept that silly spoiler on.

Replace a rotory with an inline? now that's just plain fuckin stupid.

Surprising he fit it all in there. The engine bay loooks damn full though. Usually with hondas you can step into the engine bay to work on it.

Maybe he figured in the long run that'd be cheaper than all the cases of oil and the rebuilds? :hehe:

have you seen the prices of the k sereis motors, they are rediculous. like 4500 for enigne, tranny harness, ecu, axles shiftlinkage and all. but once you get the motor you have to order custom mounts, custom axles, wireing harness, then you have to get rid of the immobolizer in the ecu. in the end your looking at 6-7 grand.

and the 3sgte pwnz the h22

Here's a 13B in an TA22.

Here's an SR20DET in an RA21

Here's some sort of Vtec in an RA21

So, this stuff has obviously been done before... it's just harder now. I'm all for the weird swaps like that.

the VTEC in the last pic is the s2000 motor. the h22 doesnt hate boost the vtec hates boost the vtec kics in to late when you boost those motors most h22 owners swap outthe vtec cams for nonvtec cams and make insane power a least around here

ive heard that vtec motors do not like boost because the timing advances during vtec thus creating detonation. if you just tune for this though they make great power. im thinkin of turboing my b18c in my hatch.

he has the wing on there so when he goes to shows people have somewhere to sit...

What this guy said :D

That would be mighty interesting, though it'd be rather front-heavy I'd imagine

Look above theres a S2000 engine in a Celica :lolhittin

I don't see the real point of the swap on that car...look it still has the restrictive AFM, probablly stock ECU. With all that there known, your not going to do much more than the lightness of the Honda engine and the HP of a B18 under boost. Plus everything aftermarket for a Honda is cheaper than a 3SGTE.

I'd rather see a drag Corolla with a very powerful 3SGTE than this damn Civic!

I agree... If i had a Civic with a GTE and a huge rediculous GT wing.. i'd drive down the street, park and sit on the wing while i wait for the BUS.

A guy here's done some crazy swaps... Mazda 626 turbo engine into a Ford Festiva.. the 'FASTiva'... GSR Intergra engine into a Suzuki Sprint... the 'Sprintegra'... Caddilac Northstar v8 into a VW Golf... anything else though.. is gay.

i've heard of h22's in VW's... shit like that... not cool. Keep it pure, i say.

Northstar into a Fiero?

Man.. i'd take a Northstar in an MR2 if i could get it to fit... that'd be badass as hell.
