To answer the question, I use the Mothers Powerball thing (the red one) and it kicks much ass. Took me like 20 minutes to clean all 4 wheels that had heavy brake dust with it, and they came out looking very nice. If you clean your car often I'd say it's worth it.

How much did you pay for it?

I don't recommend those.. If you go to CarBrite or another detail chemical outlet and buy their Special Cleaner (that's what CarBrite calls it), you can spray that stuff on your wheels and take a brush to it and the brake dust is gone in no time. Takes me 1-2 minutes to make a filthy wheel spotless using that cleaner. you can also use a degreaser or wheel acid but I suggest not using it on chrome wheels or wheels like mine that have a clear protective coating on them.

Around here it's $50 for a 5 gallon jug of it. If you're only washing your car it'll last you several (and I mean several) months. If you detail other cars and do 2 or 3 a day, it'll last about a month.
