I already have a 93 st automatic with a 1.6 4afe motor. I am able to buy a 86 gts with manual and 3sge motor. Which do you think is the better? I want a manual and the 86 would save me from having to do the swap, plus the gts is a 2.0 and has around 25+ more hp. Both cars are in great condition, except for the st needs tires and has a few dents. The gts has brand new tires from goodyear. So, which one? The gts is for $600.

Also, if I do get the gts, whats a 93 st with automatic and 81,000 miles go for?

I'd go with the 86 gts if it's in as good as shape as you say it is.

As for the price on the 93 st, even with miles as low as they are, I imagine you'll have a hard time selling it for more than 3000. But that's just my guesstimate, so take it with a grain of salt.

I have a 93 st auto too (over here in Johnson City) I say hit that 86 gts in a heartbeat, the 3sge is a damn nice upgrade from an automatic 4afe :)

get the gts. You answered your question alread by saying that you wanted manual. To convert the ST over to manual you will be paying close to that anyway. Get what you want.

$3000? Does that really sound reasonible? I didn't think that much. Is that what these cars are worth?

I'd go with the 86 GT-S, just make sure it's in good condition. Check for rust

86 GT-S. Not only are 4th gens reliable as hell, the GT-S was faster and lighter than any of the N/A 5th or 6th gens in the US.

Least I covered my ass from a bad guess :hehe:

But that's just my guesstimate, so take it with a grain of salt.

Still, I think that if the st's in good shape, and it has really low miles for a 13 y/o car, I think that you could sell it for between 2500-3000. Just a matter of the right person for the right car.

At least it's definately worth more than 1500 (?).

the only things done to it were the 7th gen gts rims/ 95% tires (kumhos) um, some interior painted pieces, and a basic system, and redout tails.
