Down in the opening by the driver side fog light is this mounted device.. it's black.. It is an open device.. whatever it is.. like maybe it's supposed to measure wind blowing through it? I don't know... the wrecked AllTrac I have has one on the bumper and so does my GTS.. anyone know what it is??

Sounds like a deer warning device but I've never seen one that was electronic.

It's the ambient temp sensor for the ac.

Heh, I thought he was talking about the ducts :hehe:

Ambient temp sensor for the AC huh? that is fricken weird.. what exactly does it do? I know it senses the air temp outside the car, but then in turn how does that control the A/C or what... ?

its not the airbag trigger is it? here is how to test:

Find a friend, this is a two man job.

1. go into the car and have your friend sit by the sensor
2. Have your friend hit it with a hammer while you sniff the center of the airbag
3. it will give off a strange oder if it is the sensor, kind of like blood

Hope this helps

I thought maybe it was for the airbag.. but.. I would think the sensor would be somewhere around the upper radiator frame or something.. I'll put a pick up then.. The sensor wires don't have that yellow shield on them like airbag shit usually does..

It has nothing to do with the airbag.
It's what I said it was, dammit.
