i bought my 91 gt liftback a year and a half ago for 2200. i put about 2000 into makein it run perfect, then had about another 2 grand of body work done. molded body kit redid the whole interior to black and racing seats and harness and cold air intake. I have been tryin to sell it for about a month now i asked for 2200 obo and the best offer ive had is 1700. and the guy says that he would be able to pick it up and pay cash for it tomorrow. should i do it? im personally disappointed about it. i just want to know what you guys think.

Well, once you change a car that much, it's hard to find someone that is willing to pay what you want....

why do you want to sell the car in the 1st place?

how many miles are on it?

Have you tried a pricing guide like NADA to see what it's worth in your area? Sounds a little to me, but then again, the older a car is in Cali the harder it will be to sell for fear of emissions compliance. Maybe you should have listed on something nationally, like eBay or autotrader online. I would keep it if it were me, but i can see how the expense might be too much.

the car is in virginia beach, va. i just moved out here to san diego two months ago and bought a 91 gts. the car in va has 176,000 and the motor has 67,000 on it.

I think you should hold out for a better offer. Or sit on it for a bit. Sounds like you did a lot of work to just off it like that.

the only thing taht im worried about is that the area that i live in isnt the really into celicas. they are into 240's and drifting shit. so i dont really think i will get any more offers and if i do they wont really be better. but thanks for you guys' input. i bumped him up to 1900.

Ouch, va beach, I lived there a few years. Cars are cheap there cause of the millitary so it is going to be rough. However, NADA says the average retail for it in that area is around 2500-2800. Edmunds True Market Value also says about 2500. Is it manual or auto? Manual is always harder to sell these days. So maybe you should hold out a little longer. Tax season is coming up and that is always the best time to sell a car.
