I've heard the solara V6 6 speed tranny bolts up, but thats only for FWD vehicles.

Oh yeah, I suppose that it would. What years did the Solara get the 6-speed in?

And I'm guessing it is a six speed manual not auto. Hopefully

Yes, its the 6 speed manual, what years did it come in is a very good question. I would look it up for you but I'm studying for my exams... Well, trying too... Damn ADD

Click the little "X" in the upper right hand corner of your browser and your ADD will go away. Cheaper than Ritalin™.

Just curious, but what do you want a 6 speed for? I would be more worried about robustness than I would be about the number of gears (or highway cruising RPM, if that's what you're after).

Dr. Tweak is from VT. You have to go at least 90mph in VT to get anywhere within 8 hours.

BUAHHAHAAA!!!

Yeah but, Rallyk, that's better than Maine where you simply "Can't get theyah from heyah!"

LOL

I was just curious because someone else asked me and I thought that there wasn't one, but this is good to know! :)

Plus, I don't know what it is, but there's something very sexy about 6 forward gears... :wiggle:

Which is RWD, right?

So the answer is no?

Yep RWD so...

There would be no 6Speed Tranny for the FWD 3S

The Xtrac wil work beautifully with a custom pressure plate for the engine. It also has a beautiful price tag, which if I recall, was over $13,000. I plan on buying one after college...way after college.

There's no 6-speed that'll bolt up... but I'm pretty sure you could get a bell housing made with the new celica 6 speed manuals. Shouldn't cost an arm and a leg either.

Unfortunately, $13,000 will just about get you the active center differential for the X-Trac box. The actual price tag for the tranny is around $80,000  . They were just discussing this not too long ago on alltrac.net.

Too bad the 6 speed celica tranny are crap and I would bet my money that it won't hold up for too long on a mildly modded swap. Not worth the investment.

What were they made of? Mars Metal? Perhaps alien poop?

Must be something in the water near Berkshire

To finish first, first you have to finish…Xtrac's track record speaks for itself:

23 Formula One World Championship Titles
20 CART Titles
9 Indy 500 Victories
20 British Touring Car Championship Titles
17 World Rally Championship Titles
7 Le Mans/Daytona 24 Hour Victories
10 Dakar Rally Victories

1st: They are secuential so they dont come cheap
2nd: They are almost bulletproof transmissions, you would have to thrash them really hard just to mildly damage one
