At least it's the clutch and not the engine nor did you wreck the car, so its pretty much alive

wait till u have to replace an engine ... which then costs u the same amount as buying the car( i got the car for 1500) so 3250 in total cuz the clutch ahd to be replaced as well ... thats always fun as i maxed out my credit cards which were already close to max to buy the car in the first place...!!>!>>! :owned:

Mine had a ripped boot. I just replaced the boot. Steering rack isn't so bad. Turns out the rack boots don't hold grease either. They just keep dirt and other debris out. So all you need to do is remove the tie rod end (get a tie rod remover tool from harbor freight. It'll cost you about 5 bucks and will save you tons of time.), unclamp the old boot, slide it off, and put the new ones on. No need to replace the rack just for that. I mean, unless the joints are bad too. But if that's the case, it's really not all THAT difficult but it can be time consuming if it's your first time. I'd take a steering rack replacement over a clutch replacement any day of the week.

3 grand for a new engine? Shoulda just swapped it for that much.

My 3SGTE for my MR2 total was 1800 to fix, that was me doing 0 labor and sourcing it. I got a good deal on it, but still. You could get a clip for 1500 and pay someone about 1500 to swap it (or do it yourself for free) for that much.

Back on topic, the clutch is like a 300 dollar labor job, and like 200 in parts. Not too bad to get it back on the road.

haha that s funny my rack and pinion is leaking for a new one is about 210dollar but u have to send the mess up parts to get that price. Would a " Brake Oil Leak Stop " stop the leaking ??

$1500 to buy the car plus $1750 for new engine and clutch. aka "so 3250 in total"
