Yeah I've searched and searched for a 3sgte clip here in the states and haven't found one. THe only one I've found was at rickys. :nono: Jarco told me I would be looking at early Feb for my clip. So theres this guy on TampaRacing.com that is selling a 4age blue top for 75$. He told me he could help me swap my sr5 4ac powered rolla for 175$ including the motor, not a bad deal. The motor only has 120k on it, its comming out of a mr2 mk1. I guess I'll swap the 4ac out just to have some fun. Not bad for under 200$ bucks.

I don't know where this belongs, but it's definitely not in 5th gen.

Moving to somewhere (it will auto redirect).

That sucks, Nelson. But you WILL be getting the 3S, right? You better, seeing as how we already tore up your engine bay in the Celi :D

Hmm I also couldn't determine where exactly this belongs. But anyways, I'm geting a 16v blue top in for 175$ not a bad deal. I sick of this Carburator crap. It sucks. I guess i'm going to dog it now. It was a bit wet today. Pretty fun shit, the rear end is pretty easy to make it slide. Yes I will do the 3s swap as soon as jarco has a clip for me.

I think this belongs in buying and selling actually. This is why I think we need a where to buy forum.

Hmm I don't know. I'm really not selling anything or wanting to buy anything from the board members. I only posted this in this forum because i was planning on swapping my 5th Gen

Hmm depends in what condition you want them. THeres a mint condition panda GTS going for 6k in auto trader. Only 80k miles. I would buy it If I was in cali. Its freakin sweet! It has "rare" leather seats.

Hey everyone thanks for that donna. Right now we have 4 clips coming in, 2 2nd gen 3sgte and 2 3rd gen 3sgte. I always wondered what you considered gens for celica's. the 2 and 3rd gens are usually found in mr2's the Gen 1 we consider to be found in Celica's. The 2nd gen = 225 hp , 3rd gen = 245.. and the 1st gen i am not sure of hp but its top mount(which is what i know as being in celica's)...
Do you guys ever actually put gen2 - gen 3 motors in celicas?

oh yea those clips coming in are goin to be sold pretty fast and from there i am goin to just become a distributor for ppl that actually have storage space to sell the motors. But in the mean time the motors coming in will be sold for 2200-2300 for gen 2 and 2700-2800 for gen 3's. They will chopped from running cars with near 50k on them. We dont have a name for the buisness as of yet but i will be starting my buisness soon. The clips are just something to make money off of to start my buisness.

Hey the 1st gen 3sgtes are found in the st-165(4th gen celica). Theres a guy on the board thats selling a st with one. Most people like to go with the 2ed gen 3sgte(out of a st185, 5th gen celica). Hey for those 2 2ed gen 3sgte clips, are they celica or Mr2? I would need a celica clip.

Hey, from my knowledge the 1st gen 3sgte is from a celica. This is important alot of ppl even with mr2's dont actually realize. There are 2 2nd gen 3sgte's. Eariler Generation Gen 2 is Usdm style 91-92. Later Generation Gen 2 is Usdm style 93-95. Then you have Gen 3 which is i think 95-98.

From what i know there was only 1 motor in the alltrac , but it never made sense to me and i haven't done research on it yet. I always considered a alltrac motor a alltrac motor from its topmount setup on the 3sgte lol.

If you want i can make a call and see if they have any. Also there is a place local to me that imports motors for cheap, i got my 3gste 2nd 2nd gen w/ tranny(lsd) and ecu for 1300

GT4SOM
12-27-2004, 03:58 AM
Yeah 1300 sounds good but you already have a mr2t. I have a Celica GT I would need alot of sensors and parts off the clip. If you could check for availability and pricing that would be great!

ok i will ask the prices for a St-185 clip from my guy it might take a few days

3SGTE's were available in Celica's from 1986-1998. There are 3 generations of 3SGTE's used in the GT-Four model (known as the Alltrac in America). Toyota used it in the Celica because of it's use in the WRC circuit. The 3SGTE was produced so that Toyota could compete in rally championship races with the Celica.

Here is a quick breakdown of what came in Celicas.

------------------------------

1st gen 3SGTE, Celica GT-Four 1986-1989. Top mount water to air IC, single entry turbo, 190hp. Available in USA from 1988-1989.

2nd gen 3SGTE, Celica GT-Four 1990-1991 (early model). Top mount air to air IC, twin entry turbo. 7 bolt exhaust manifold. No clips on plug wires. Available in the USA from 1990-1991.

2nd gen 3SGTE, Celica GT-Four 1992-1993 (late model). Top mount air to air IC, twin entry turbo. 9 bolt exhaust manifold. Clips on plug wires. Available in the USA from 1992-1993.

2nd gen 3SGTE, Celica GT-Four RC (also CS edition, Group A rallye edition) 1992-1993. Top mount water to air IC, twin entry (steel) turbo, 9 bolt exhaust manifold, clips on plug wires. NOT AVAILABLE IN USA.

3rd gen 3SGTE, Celica GT-Four 1994-1998. Top mount water to air intercooler. CT20b turbo, no TVIS, no AFM. NOT AVAILABLE IN USA.

3rd gen 3SGTE, Celica GT-Four WRC edition. Top mount water to air intercooler, CT20b turbo, no TVIS, no AFM. Anti lag piping installed but not activated. NOT AVAILABLE IN USA.

arg my head hurts btw i get distracted watching your sig....

Thats great input there chrisD that helps alot. Btw those turbos did they all use Ct-26's? i believe the twin-entry ones where ct-26's and i thought all of them where steel except for the Japanese ones used in 93+ models. Which i believe around that year they started to use Ceramic blades/shaft. The US 93+ used steel still though.

Thank you for breaking that down Chris. Rarh, I just a st-185 clip. I can really care less on which version of the 2ed gen 3s i get. If you find a RC version thats great I'll settle for any though. Let me know when you find one please. THanks.

dude.. just get one.. welcome to doing this kind of shit, hopefully you buy good shit. Thats just the nature of the game.. myself and a number of people have already pointed you in the right direction.. not only that, but we have FAQ's with websites to importers, get one f00

GT4SOM

I know that. I've contacted about 6 different importers. Some of them don't sell clips, they sell "swaps." Others have sw-20 no st-185.I'm not going to settle for a mr2 clip. Some just don't have any at all. The only vendor I did found that had a 185 clip was FlashOptions.com. But they are based in malaysia. They don't take Credit cards. They want me to Wire them 2400$. Screw that, I'd like a paper trail if I'm dealing with a foreign company. Jarco said they are getting some in by probably next month or early Feb. I'm putting in a blue top in the 86 so that will hold me up till then. :blahblah:

Don't deal with FLASHOPTIONS!!!!! They have a VERY bad reputation. You will not get a clip from them, despite what they say. Delivery time is very poor as well.

ST165 (1986-1989) used a single entry CT26, similar to the MK3 supra CT26 with a smaller compressor wheel.

ST185 (1990-1993) used a twin entry CT26. Only JDM models were ceramic.

ST185 RC (1992-1993) used a twin entry CT26. Steel only.

ST205 (1994-1998) used a twin entry CT20b turbo. Ceramic. Only UK models were steel.

The years that the mr2's and celica's used these turbo's/engines are different.
