Before wires were cleaned up:

Ive been pounding these since 2002, overall im VERY happy with my setup!

12-04-2004, 07:10 PM
i have had several set ups over the years.. from 2 subs, to 3 subs, to huge ported boxes, to smaller sealed ones. a handfull of different amps. etc

this was my 1st set up

this is how it looked right before i left for the army and tore it all out

its currently the same setup.. just very ghetto rigged.. was not in a real caring mood when i got home from the army to take the time to install it all clean

12-05-2004, 10:09 AM
Sorry about the crap quality, but all Ive got is one of the first digital camcorders ever built.
*edit* hmm looks like cardomain finally stopped the image linking, just go to www.sounddomain.com/id/thumpin00gts , the bottom has my trunk setup pics

We've got some damn nice setups in here!

Head Unit: Kenwood DDX 7015 DVD/MP3 Player, 6.5 in dash Touch Screen
Amplifiers: Rockford Fosgate Power 800.2, Rockford Fosgate Punch 800.4 (old style :) )
Capacitor: Stinger 1.0 Farad Cap
Wiring: Primary is Stinger 0 gauge, breaks off into Stinger 4 gauge off of the Cap
Mids and Highs: Diamond Audio Hexes S600s 2 ways, with Silk Dome Tweeters for the front, Diamond Audio D6 2 ways (silk tweets as well) S400s I believe is the code
Lows: Infinity Perfect 12.1d subs x 2
Ancillary: Rockford Fosgate Circuit breaker, Distrubution Block, and battery terminals
Battery: Napa Sealed Orbital (same cranking amps as a yellow top, half the price)
Box: The sub's are enclosed in an exact, 2.0 cubic foot box that has been fiberglassed to encompass the entire spare tire well. The amp racks, and upper facade are all wood, and have a lot of time and effort that come with them. The main, flat facade is all one piece, and the corners actually fold up to access storage underneath it, as well as making it SUPER easy to pull it out in one piece. I have to thank Forest Cooper for helping me out on this, he was the mastermind, and the brains.

Dont mind the old pic with the old shifter and old deck in there, subs still look the same :)

We've got some damn nice setups in here!

:hehe: That's what you think...:

Head Unit: Kenwood KDC-316S Receiver
Front: Stock
Rear: Stock
Trunk: Jensen JX369 Triaxial 6"x9" speakers
Box: The 6"x9"'s are in a sealed wood box made by my friend probably in woodshop class. It has no purpose other than to be heavy, ugly and to make the cheap, crappy speakers sound worse.

Yes, everything sucks (but my head unit. I love that thing). I need a job. :(

11-17-2005, 05:16 AM
Head unit: Alpine CDA-9833
Front speakers: JL Audio TR400-Cxi
Front tweeters: JL Audio XR100-CT
Rear speakers: Eclipse 8062 6.5" that barely fit in the stock enclosures. Nicely crossed over so they're midbass only.

So, it's nothing special. But I'm a poor college student, and it sounds a LOT better than stock, so I'm happy.

11-17-2005, 06:04 PM
Well.. here's what I had(sold the subs, upgrading to the 12"s in a better custom box w/ better battery, and better deck).

Head Unit: Sony CDA-4400(I think, soon to be Sony CDX-L410X, then a Fosgate(unknown model)

Front Speakers: Some 4" knock offs(have a pair of Alpine 4"s, unsure of model#)

Rear Speakers: Fosgate 4"(dunno model either)

Amp: Fosgate P6002 Series amp(600w x 1 @ 2ohms, bridged)

Subs: Fosgate P2 10" 8ohm subs(running 300w RMS @ 4Ohms) 400w max, 200w RMS

Wiring: Fosgate 2AWG install(soon to be replaced with relocated battery)

Extras: 1Farad RF Digital capicator.

Again, that's what I had. I sold the 10"s, going to the 12"(Same ones), I'm putting in a yellow top optima battery, and changing all the speakers out.

11-18-2005, 12:05 AM
Deck: Alpine CDA-7897
Fronts: Infinity Kappa 4 inch components (old green style Kappas)
Amp: Pioneer old school (got it from David) 4 channel. (cant remember power on it)
No rears.
Subs: 2 RF Punch 8s in iddy biddy boxes that fit behind my seats.

Overall? I like it. Gets it done. Good sporty stereo in a good sporty little car.

Celica ST
Headunit: Clarion DXZ-745MP
Fronts: Unknown (they have been changed though, definately not stock)
Rears: probabally same as fronts
Amp: Alpine V12 mono 2 channel amp (dont ask how its a mono, but its a mono, says it right on the amp)
Subs: 2 MTX 10s that are about 8 years old in a sealed box. They still hit pretty good. Actually for MTXs, they sound pretty damn good.

Thats what I gotz.

does what i had kickin before it was stolen count?

11-08-2007, 03:29 AM
In the ranger I have just 2 infinity kappa 6.5's but you cant tell its only 2 speakers. In the grand prix the front speakers are stock, and the back ones are some off-brand that I didnt put in but they sound pretty good overall, still wunna change them, and I run a 12 inch kicker CompVR with an autotek amp, pretty good amp actually. In the celica I have 2 4 inch infinity kappa's and 2 sony 6.5's in the back, both sets are good speakers

11-08-2007, 05:56 AM
system 10 = ftw!

11-08-2007, 06:18 PM
Alpine MRP-M350 amp
AudioBahn 12" Sub

I think the sub is blown, but that's okay because I plan on overhauling my sound system with Infinity speakers, a 10" and 12" sub respectively. I purchased the sub and box from a friend for $20 knowing that the sub may be blown, yet in essence only purchased the deal for the box alone.

The SC300 has a space in the rear deck for a 10" speaker (which mine is actually dead) and many replace it with a 10" subwoofer

Infinity Speakers/subs
Alpine amplification
Alpine/JVC/or Pioneer head unit

Before wires were cleaned up:

Ive been pounding these since 2002, overall im VERY happy with my setup!

god damn that looks like it weighs a crap load.

01-15-2008, 03:02 AM
alpine cd player (not sure of model, mid-grade one.)
stock system 10 speakers still sounding hella good! no door subs after deck install though.
cadence 3002 amp, 1200 watts of pure power. (highly recommend cadence amps, subs not as good.)
four 12" ultra linear subwoofers, 600 watts each. so total im 1200 watts underpowering them. car broke so funds are gone for another amp.
custom build enclosure built by muah, dual/common chamber. 2 subs per chamber, 3-3/4 aero ports tuned to 36 hz. internal bracing.
= a shit load of flex, hella loud bass, broken tail light, lots of rattles.

01-15-2008, 04:14 AM
Alpine CDA-9883 head unit
Delphi XM portable radio setup
MP3 player port
(2) Infiniti dome tweeters in the stock locations on the mirrors
Infiniti 1600 watt amp
(2) Infiniti Reference 12" subs mounted in a sealed box facing up in hatch
4gauge amp wire from the battery to the hatch (with fuse of course)

Future mods (before summer 2008):
(2) 4" Infiniti reference speakers up front
(2) 6.5" Infiniti Reference speakers in the back.
(2) 4x6" Infiniti Reference speakers mounted in a custom (more solid/less rattles) hatch cover facing forwards
TONS of Dynamat, or some kind of sound deadening material.

I'll post pics here sometime in the next few weeks.

Stock everything other than the alpine head unit. My question is how do you keep the spare tire in an alltrac and put subs in the trunk I was thinking about molding boxes but if anyone has any ideas that don't remove the tire or cover it shoot it at me.

06-02-2010, 05:53 AM
I run a super small profile enclosure with a 10" in the rear.
Basically *just* fits in the space between the plastics and the spare.

I would like to have a molded enclosure as well, but it will have to wait.

I like having my spare right where it is. I have had need of it. :)

In the '90 Alltrac:

Deck - Alpine CDA9847
Front - Eclipse SC8264 6.5 components (modified the door speaker boxes a little to seal the 6.5s)
Rear - Same as the fronts
4ch amp - Eclipse XA 4000
Sub amp - Eclipse XA 1000 mono
Sub: Eclipse SW7200 in a sealed box
0/1 gauge power wire
16 gauge speaker wire to replace all of the factory speaker wire

Soon to be in the '88 Alltrac (thread will be started once we get into some of the engine work that we will be doing this summer)

Deck - Pioneer DEHP5900IB
Front - Eclipse SC8264 6.5 components same as above.
Rear - Will be the same as the front, I just have to find a place to mount the rear tweeters
2.0 farad Metra Tsunami cap

The amps, sub, and wiring will also be the same as for the fifth gen. When I was still working at a shop, we got an amazing deal on Eclipse gear when we first started carrying them. So I bought two of everything :)

Bass is awesome, but amplified components=WIN! Sorry, I'm a nerd.

ughs, so much junk in here. no wonder Car Audio has a bad name.

12-28-2011, 05:23 AM
never finished my dream setup but i got a little wub wub right now with:
clarion 9 band equalizer
some cheap deck 50x4rms
chinease 4 channel stereo amp 400 watts rms bridged in parallel w/2 speakers per channel = 800 watts rms and no distortion? (9 band eq w/high and low crossovers)
rear component mid bass drivers 6"
front tweeters and 3.5" component mid bass drivers
2 10" subs at 1000 watts each, not chinease powered by JL Audio 2000 watt 2 channel amp dubbed dont remember rms watts probably half that
no capacitor just two optima red tops in parallel w/ high output alternator

really the only thing that makes this sound decent is the 9 band clarion eq from 1995 ha came in the car with a 6 cd changer ha
