:( Well last night around 11:30 I was driving home from work on the highway and I heard the worse noise a Celica owner could hear a loud knock then the engine shut off and the car filled with smoke I had it towed back to my home this morning to take a look at the damage and I found a hole that I can fit my whole fits in the engine block.

Dont let it discourage you away from fixing it :) just get a newer engine block/ whole engine and replace that puppy. orrrrr better yet a 4AGE/3SGE

The GTS has a 'S' block, don't it? If it does, slap a nice 3SGTE in there. Don't see this as a downside, see it as an excuse to drop a bigger engine in it.

I had a Engine do something like that as well in my celica, I was not ready to give up on my celica. So I serched and found a Late 3sfe for a camry I think and swaped it in, everything bolts up but the engine mount but the one from my old 5sfe fit it and it took 2 weeks to do. CELICA lives forever! : D

^^^lol my camry died so I stole the motor out of a celica and had to do the exact oposite

GTS is a 5SFE. Its a 2.2 liter, the 3SGTE is a 2.0 liter. Its not bigger.

It is better though. The swap isnt for everyone though. I wouldnt swap my 5th gen to a 3SGTE. I dont need 2 of them. Id like to swap a 20v Blacktop 4AGE in though.

Indees the GT/GTS is a 'S' block so its direct with a 3SGE/3SGTE swap eaither one better than the older one

If you had the ST its a 'A' block so its direct with a very nice kind of rare 4AGE/4AGZE swap :P

Eaither way just swap a motor in it and keep the Celi alive
