View Full Version : Suspension: adjustable or not?

10-29-2005, 10:20 PM
I'm gonna make a nice little purchase of some shocks/struts today, should i go with some adjustables or not? is it really worth my cash for em?

I think so.

Id recommend Koni Yellows, or Tokiko 5 Way Illuminas.

If you still want full adjustability and want to skimp on price a bit and arent afraid of a bit harsher ride, get KYB AGXs.

By the way, I think this should be in the suspension forum. Im moving it.

adjustables are nice, anybody happen to have a link for the koni's at a decent price? or anythign besides the KYB-gas(wutevers)?

You can find the konis on ebay, but theyre some of the better strut inserts so be prepared to pay a little more for them. Everyone says theyre worth it though.

its nto, now back on topic. The megan springs I'm looking at give a 2in drop, is that too much, will i be looking at problems dropping her that much?

10-30-2005, 06:30 PM
i dunno

last time i looked up a 5th gen setup it was around 850 dollars +s/h

then a while later i found a 5g specific true coilover setup (forget the actual brand though at the moment) for around 1050 , 950 with some option removed

that's not a huge difference ...

let me try and find them...

JIC magic makes coilovers for the 90-93 st184 and they also make them for the st185 celica.

Tein make coilovers for the st185, i dont know how well they would work on the st184 due to it being lighter, maybe you can adjust them to compensate.

The konis are everyones favorite since they cost around 650.
