I got on Alltrac.net (as No Spin) for the AWD turbo help and I thought I would check this place out too. Picked up my JDM GT4 in Vancouver in August and am loving it so far.

Welcome and congrats on your 'new' GT4!
Good to see you've signed up at www.alltrac.net too, that's where most of us hang out.
How's it feel shifting with the left hand?

Hey Rick, I used No Spin on alltrac.net. I should have learned by now to keep the same name for all the different boards. The left hand shifting is no biggie, it's the signal light/wiper that gets you about once a day.

As for price, I imported it myself. Take whatever the importers are selling them for and knock off a couple of grand - but I was the one taking the risk to get that kind of a deal.

Yeah but what'd' it run ya? (:

Sweet! I'm in Edmonton too, driving a 93 GTS.

I saw another 5th gen GTFour around, but it was black...

I heard the 300ZX guys complain when the RHD Fairladys came in at 1/2 of the price of comparable existing LHD cars. Same is probably happening to MR2s. The JDM imports must be having some effect on the used sports car prices.

I don't want to be to specific about what I paid and maybe screw with potential resale for the existing Alltrac owners. If someone seriously wants to know how much they can import for there are lots of importers bringing cars into Canada who can give them quotes. There is a lot of competition in the market here in Alberta.

That's not cool to bagon him about that. I'd do the same. Do your own research and stop being lazy. I found a website that had a final-year 1998 GT4 for what was the equivalent of $9,500. Google is your friend.

Congrats man! Lots of Canadians here. Please enjoy our site, and ask ANY questions that you may have. This a somewhat laid back board, but there are some REALLY intelligent people on here, who have done some AMAZING things!

He was just joking about the bastard comment, going by his old school smilie. I have had so many people ask me what I paid and I started to ask myself: what good does it do me to tell people?

Obviously a JDM import is a bargain compared to an equivalent North American model and that is why I went that route. By telling everyone what I paid for my GT4, I am not only hurting future resale bargaining position on my own car but also in some small way contributing to devaluing existing Alltracs. The only reason to tell what I paid is to brag about what a good deal I got, and that is not what I want to sound like.

If anyone wants pointers on how to go through the process or contact importers I have no problem with that. I would love to see more RHD Celicas & Supras out there, I am outnumbered badly by the Nissan guys.

Look at the prices..they are bargain compared to local cars..I mean mint MR2 turbos for way under 10 000$ CAN is just a deal!
