Brought to you by C.A.T.T. Compact Automotive Tuner Trials

I was running with 2 7th Gen celicas, there was a newer corolla and an 89 MR2 thats all as far as Toyotas. But ofcource like should be expected Celicas were at the top of the list for stock 4 Cyl class group "F"
Including a 2004 Celica GTs doing a lap in 1min. 12.96 seconds for first place.
And me in my 90 GT taking second with 1min 14.01 seconds.
I had my first best lap at 1min 17.67 and I feel pretty confident with a little more practice on that track I could keep up well with the 2004. :thefinger

Oddly the other celica reppin was placed in modified class and ran his best lap at around 1min 15 seconds?? :owned: Poor guy got last in his class, but I dont think its his fault, just weird class placements it was our first event out here since 2 years ago.

Needless to say I was very excited this is finaly coming together for our little town (Grand Junction, Colorado) I took alot of pictures.
Around 70 Cars there.
Enjoy the pics, and just so nobody asks heres the explination for the banner... :thefinger

And ofcource this was my first event so I felt on top of the world keeping up with my class!! WOOOOOH

yeah its tuff to get anything setup like this because even though you would think getting it off the road with be a public posative these things always get attacked for noise or attracting fast cars from out of state town etc to cause problems.... it really sucks. some free country here . . .

wow didnt kno anyone from the site was there... nobody said anything about my celi, accept calling it a supra or mr2 with an assured sound in their voice.. lol

12-03-2005, 10:29 PM
No, Keith is not from this site. He's from the Miata forum. There are a lot of guys in those pictures from the Miata forum. Grand Junction is the home of www.flyinmiata.com so you can see all sorts of stupid fast Miatas around there ;)

Sounds like you had a great time, good job on your first event.

You know guys, if you want to get into this stuff yourselves, you should just check out your local scca.

Just go to www.scca.com and look up your region. I can almost guarantee there's some type of regional scca where you are that holds solo II autocross events. It's a great way to start racing and really learn how to drive your car.

I was hoping more of you guys were into this stuff, cuz I was looking into getting a Celica for autox purposes, and was hoping some of you guys could help me set it up for stock class. Any veterens here that can point me in the right direction?

Anyways, good job on your first autox and that course looks awesome. Where is it exactly?

oh, and how many cars were in your class (F street prepared I'm assuming)?

12-13-2005, 03:30 AM
What year Celica were you looking to get to autocross?

12-13-2005, 05:13 AM
6th gen!

12-13-2005, 05:19 AM
You can ask some questions here, also check out http://www.evilspeed.com/ and get in touch with the guys there. They've been autocrossing and road racing a 6th gen Celica for years and currently are in the process of turbocharging it. I think they went through a lot of different suspension setups, A lot of which used to be documented on the website, but I can't find it now. I'm sure they still have all the information if you need it.
