Hey I have gunmetal rims (hyperblack) and my celica is the stock red. I was thinking about gunmetal grey as a new paintjob. I've used turtle wax polishing compound but it doesn't seem to keep my paint looking the way it does after using the polish. I'm thinking I might end up re-painting my rims black once they get scratched up enough. Here are some pics of a gunmetal grey supra and my car/rims.

My car (before JDM vents and clear corners :P) POS camera too, bad pic.

Rims

I'm just wondering if gunmetal grey would be considered a custom paint job or is it a standard color option. Anyone know estimated costs for a gunmetal grey paintjob? personally I think it would look really good on my car with my rims, either they way the rims are now or if i get them professionaly painted black in the future. Any help appreciated guys.

the six spoke looks hot and the gunmetal on red looks real good IMO. Everythign you plan on doing to your car, I plan to do on mine.

Red is gettin old to me.

There I finally got all the pics working, damn imageshack :P. lol levy the guy where I bought my rims was trying to sell my some chrome rims which were more expensive, I'm so glad I went with these because I want the racing look instead of the bling bling look. Any1 good with photoshop? I wonder what my car would look like with my rims with gunmetal grey paintjob. If any1 has the time and wants to give it a go I can send pics VIA email or MSN, thanks.

You may want to post your request in the Photoshop section. But I think your idea would look real nice. As far as the cost of a paint job goes, it depends on how much your paint costs, then how many hours of labor to prep/sand/paint your car. I would suggest preparing it yourself because you will save yourself a lot of money there. Try to get the paint somewhere that isnt real expensive, but get good paint. Should look good though. Keep us posted with your progress, or ideas atleast.

thanks pimpin, I was going to re-paint another red but I really think gunmetal grey would look good. I saw that supra in a magazine and I thought it looked insane. I havent seen a gunmetal celica, if any1 has pics of even just the paintjob that would be great.

lol lavy, sorry man. I bought the February edition of import tuner and i thought the color was called gunmetal silver. I looked in the magazine again and they say its gunmetal grey. It's the Lethal Weapon Supra.

Ok I just looked it up, its in Feb 05 edition of import tuner.

"Bar none, this is one of the most serious cover cars we've featured to date. The fact that it doesnt have a huge wing, loud paint or gaudy graphics certainly separates it from the crowd, creating a stealthy look that is only part of its appeal. The gunmetal grey paint is reminiscent of an advanced fighter jet and also suggests they may have similarities: reserves of power, the latest technology and instant respect."

It could be called something different but this is just to clarify what it says in the magazine.

Wow.. yeah, I've been looking at doing gunmetal or titanium metallic. I haven't been able to find either colors anywhere. There's a color on an Elise that I love to death. it's amazing.

That's the color I want. I call dibs. And I'm thinking Motegi FF6 17's in Gunmetal to go with it.
